I thought it would be fun to see if we could locate the earliest DMG-01 still around. I know mine cannot be it but I will at least
post the serial number I have on mine. Also I am not sure if this has ever been done before.

Here is my oldest Gameboy DMG:
    Serial Number is: G04240725
    Screws are Philips head screws
Board is a Version 2 which is DMG-CPU-02.
Chip on the board is dated 9003 which means the 3rd week of 1990 dating January 15, 1990.
Has anyone found or have a DMG-CPU-02 or older?
Post your serial numbers and revision in my thread here.
Have anyone seen the oldest one which is the DMG-CPU-01:

This is what it looks like. Sadly, All i could find was this. No other DMG-CPU-01 around. Does anyone have a full picture of a DMG-CPU-01. We are still looking for older versions that have noises with LSdj.

It'd be nice if you quit advertising this in the chatbox.

    I have DMG-01, DMG-06 and a few DMG-07s
    DMG-01 to 06 have soldered chips with cases, DMG-07 - cheaper glop-tops.

Got a picture of the CPU-01 and what is your serial of the CPU-01? I think you forgot to put the CPU- word in your post. Can you take your CPU-01 apart and show your serial and Mainboard? Because my oldest one so far is CPU-02.

I was also wondering also, did the original dmg cpu 01 cpu say sharp lr35902 on it? because I once read that this one is one of them most hard to find gameboys out there and the cpu says lr35902 on it opposed to saying the average dmg cpu A or B on it. IDK, Thats what I heard though..

    • I'll do, it will take some time. I have two DMG-CPU-07s (normal and crystal play it loud), 1x DMG-CPU-06, and one disassembled machine (broken screen) with discrete chips, don't remember if it's DMG-CPU-01 or -03 at home, need to take 10 more from work and open them.

i need to bring some of them from work place so it can take a week or three to get here. At home i have only 3 gameboys with DMG-CPU-07, 1 with DMG-CPU-03 and one disassembled machine (broken screen) with discrete chips, very early one, i need to find where it is to see if it's CPU-02, or -01. Maybe next week.

What do you mean by "discrete chips?" Do you mean that there was other chips beside the dmg cpu ic, ram chips, and amp?

Also, any luck finding the old dmg model?
