Can anyone point me at what they use to solder at fine points? My iron is good enough for XBox and Wii modding but I can't begin for the life of me solder to SMD type components or anything on a PS2. Other than a single fuck up on a XBox involving desoldering braid I consider myself pretty skilled.
They use automated machines I believe. People aren't really meant to solder some of that shit by hand.
I've seen reflow ovens do it but usually I'm just replacing something that acts as a fuse. Done and over with if its a full sized resistor or fuse but a pain in the ass when its about the size of a grain of rice.
Tweezers, flux, and a fine-tipped iron. If you want to get a good value on a used soldering station that'll last you the rest of your life, check out the Hakko 936.
