your website is overloaded?! - cant connect to your website. however, what a fantastic game that rare made. thank you very much for this depth view.
This is amazing! Thank you so much for uploading this. Are you able to talk about where you got the video?
This is really neat. It's pretty much Star Fox Adventures without Starfox, so it really wasn't that much differently. Honestly, don't know if I would've preferred this. Some were pretty turned off that Star Fox was shoehorned into the game, which I can certainly understand, but I also really liked it. In addition, it looked downright beautiful on the Cube.
This is amazing, I'm totally going to watch all of this once I have more time! Welp, I finally watched all of it and it was amazing. It truly pushes the N64 hardware to its limits. I thought Conker BFD looked fantastic, but damn, this looks even greater. I especially love the look of the snowy areas with Sabre, even to this day they look magical. And there's not even the trademark N64 fog!!! Other than that, the gameplay looks mostly fun, although combat seems kind of a pain sometimes. Either collisions are off or it was meant to be hard. Some of the character moves have no chance against bigger enemies it seems because you have to get way to close to them to be able to manage a hit! Puzzles seem a bit more, I particularly enjoyed the part where you had to freeze the lake with Sabre to get across. Was this video recorded back in 2000ish? If you don't mind me asking, how did you get a hold of it? I thank you again for this video
I know, it looks gorgeous... even if the Gamecube one is technically better, this is darker overall and has a great look. The two intro cutscenes are night and day, even though they share a lot of the same camera angles. And oh god the dialog... WHY did they switch to that crazy gibberish?! The English is infinitely better. The part where Scales and Krystal talk on the ship is way epic on N64, with amazing lighting and good voices, while the GC version is laughable in comparison. Very cinematic for N64... love it when it fades to the ship flying through the storm with the title logo and amazing music. Not a fan of the Krystal redesign either - she lost a lot of clothes in the move to Gamecube. I haven't played Star Fox Adventures, but apparently a lot of her role got cut, and it focuses much more on Fox? And now she's a member of Star Fox in other games... ugh. Thanks Miyamoto, you messed up an incredible original work. So awesome you got this video out Falcon, but I'm also super bummed about the whole deal, lol. I really hope someone finds a prototype. EDIT: One weird thing: What we've seen looks so finished, yet Sabre has Krystal's sound effects when he's jumping around and fighting.
Thank you for taking the time to upload this, document all that information, and share it with the world. Please know that it is greatly appreciated.
Haters gonna hate. Just kidding, but I honestly think SFA may be the better game in the end. I haven't beaten it yet, but I intend to do so in a few days. This far it's been an enjoyable game
for me it simple, SFA is way better than this game if it would have do the retail. I mean the n64 was really obsolete at the time ,
I did watch some SFA gameplay, and setting aside Dinosaur Planet baggage, yeah it does look really great! Still looks like a cool world to explore, and Fox seems like a likable character. I'll definitely pick it up sometime, but I'll just have to forget what could have been while I play it....
Yeah, that too must be taken into account. By 2000 few cared about the N64. Conker BFD did very poorly, I don't imagine Dinosaur Planet doing better and that is, if it was to be released in 2000. Perhaps the game wouldn't be ready until 2001!
