Football Manager 2006 is the first game to actually require that your 360 has a HDD. A sign of things to come? I beleive it is. And makes me wonder even more what the point of the Core system is. http://www.gamersreports.com/news/1258/
I still hold on to the idea that the Core system was meant only for parents who didn't know what they were buying, only that it was cheaper than the other system.
isn't it technicaly the second since final fantasy already has the beta avalible freely? Final Fantasy XI requires installation. Also I see this happening often in games. Most people will eventualy buy the hdd (specialy for the market place features).
I'm just hoping that this leads to games that actually use the HD to improve performance (caching) and not for extra storage.
Indeed, it'd be nice to see the HD actually used properly to improve the games in this version of the Xbox. Aside from a bit of caching in a few games, the only real for the HDD in the original Xbox is XBMC, emulators and whatever you decide to get upto with DVD2Xbox  Hey, Roi, is that Mario in your Avatar made of Lego? If so, that's damn cool.
Quicker load times would be really nice. Yeah I just noticed that this morning, that is pretty sweet. Roi, do you have any other pics of it or a weblink? If it is Legos.
Football Manager is an HD hog . My bro plays that all the time on his notebook and that thing really pushes it.
Well, considering that HD-required games were mentioned way before the 360 launched, this shouldn't come as much of a surprise. IMO, the Core System is a year one anomaly that will be phased out quickly, if it hasn't already.
Yes, its the ultimate in "OOPs I thought I bought everything, what do you mean I need to spend another $100 USD". Parents go out and think they have bought everything for less, only to find out that they need to spend more money all together than the cost of the premium pack. Thats why memory cards were invented, the HD just increases the cost of the OOPs anty from $15 USD to $100 USD.
