I'm trying to figure this out, but it's hard to find reliable information. I'm only looking for home consoles with games that provided AI because I know that arcade games had AI as early as in Pong (1972), I think,

What about Home Pong from 1976, was there AI in it?
The Magnavox Odyssey - I think there were not, but I am not an expert on the Odyssey. AI yes or no?

There was Electrotennis from September 1975 and it offered pretty impressive AI, that's the earliest I know. Is there an AI in Home Pong?

That's a good question, not completely sure though. I'd probably say Pong though.

Well, certainly it was Pong, but what Pong. By 1976 (before the Fairchild Channel F) there was only Home Pong by Atari / Sears Tele Games and Epoch Electrotennis in 1976 and 1975 respectively. Before that, there was only the Odyssey and I'm not sure if that had any AI games.

The Odyssey is simple discrete logic. It's dumb hardware so definitely no AI.

I don't know if the original pong is really AI either, it just moves in the direction the ball is going. I don't consider that AI.

    Home Pong is 2-player only.
