now that's a tough cookie.. can't remember for the life of me but most likely either diablo or starcraft
Half life:team fortress. When I first played I was stunned. I couldn't even tell i was online till i looked at my cable modem!
I think the first network game I ever played was Quake II...or Grand Theft Auto...or Age of Empires. I really can't remember, it was ages ago! I still love to play Age of Empires...can't wait for a new release!
What an awesome game indeed. I think I like it more than the Orange Box remake. It was really fun to play on a LAN.
I'm not sure what my first was... Easily the most memorable is Halo CE. Lans every other weekend sometimes. I guess even before that was Counterstrike at local lan centers and what not. I can't believe I used to pay to play at those places.
Me and my friend used to play Warcraft II on 2400 baud modems for hours on end. Warcraft I was unplayable, but II actually ran smooth. After we got tired of head-to-head play, we would do 2 players against the computer. We would give the computer such a huge advantage and slowly battle against it. Had some games that lasted over 6 or 7 hours! Jesus, i'll never forget those games. I played some Quake and Duke Nukem' 3D online later on, but never really got into online gaming.
