I recently realized that I don't really know what the first console that had an LED to indicate power was. I've tried searching for an answer but can't find anything definitive.

Anyway, I figure if anyone knows the answer to this it would be someone here.

Let's see... It's not Atari, Coleco or Intellivision, and though I haven't an Odyssey nearby, I'm almost certain I recall it doesn't have a power led either.

If you think of japanese consoles, once again, I might be wrong, as I've never seen an original one working, from what I know of Famiclones, the original Famicom did not have a power led either (even though the FDS did have leds to indicate loading).

It's either a Pre-Famicom obscure japanese machine, or some Atari variation.

The 5200 or the 7800 didn't have power leds either.

    Very interesting question.

Probably a vfd game with changeable carts. I forget the name of it but there's a Japanese machine like that from the 70's

Did Atari computers (the 400 and 800 series) have power leds?

I sort of recall the Commodore 64 had one, but I might be thinking of the Disk Drive's loading led.

Well, the RCA Studio II (1976) looks like it has one:

Boy, is that Studio II a sexy piece of machinery. If it does have a LED, We have a winner.

I know for a fact the Odyssey 2 didn't have any LED, highly doubt the Odyssey did.

Well, then, it's probably the Sexy, Sexy Studio II then.

    Nice.
