My venerable old japanese PS1 is having audio problems. Is anyone around here versed on how to fix these?

You'll need to describe the actual problem. Audio problem is too vague. Is the audio cutting out, skipping, extremely quiet? Is some audio present but other audio isn't?

It's like there is a buzzing sound over the actual audio. When there is no sound it's quiet but when it produces sound there is a buzz not unlike static.

First the obvious, did you try a different AV cable and/or perhaps another TV?

I tried both. The problem happens with any set of AV cables and I tried it on two different TVs with the same issue. Should I move this to the repair group?
