Bought a ps2 slim awhile back but problem is that the plastic notch that pushes the censor down in the back isn't making contact properly. Tried retighting it, putting tape of it which worked for a short period then tape got week fast. I read this is a common problem with ps2 slims and I am wondering if there is a fix for it. It's getting annoying having to stack stuff on top of it to get it to read.

Yes, it can be fixed! You need to know how to solder a bit though. If not, any repair shop should be able to do this really cheap.

Just carefully remove the sensor completely and replace it with a very short wire. The sensor is soldered in place by four points, two on each side. After the sensor has been removed, just connect the two sides with the wire. (Note that this this applies to the SCPH-7700x - there might be differences in other models but I think the above is true for all of them.)

With this fix the machine will works EXACTLY like out of the box, but more reliable (the wire wont be worn out)... Also, other fixes (including replacing the fliptop with some third-party piracy crap) might not even work since your sensor might be worn out. Replacing or trying to repair the sensor instead of shorting it doesn't really have any advantage at all.

    Good luck!
