Due to their age a lot of classic backup units or flashcarts need a floppy disk or a parallel connection to load software. That could be a problem with new computers. In the Homecomputer scene a lot of new SD or CF cart based devices are available since a few years. I wonder if there are similar projects for game consoles? I just know the PowerPak for the NES. Does anyone know which copiers or flashcarts are compatible with CF or SD cards or can be modified to support that type of storage? Currently I know the following systems: N64: - Z64 (needs modification) SNES: - SWCDX2 with Disk Dual (needs modification) NES: - Powerpak Probably someone can help me to extend that list:thumbsup:
Some time ago I've seen a Mega Drive cart that accepts GBA flashcards, that accept SD ... I'll try to look it up!
I wonder if you might try one of these floppy-to-Memory-Stick adapters: http://www.amazon.com/Sony-Floppy-Interface-Memory-MSAC-FD2MA/dp/B00005T3Q1 Not sure how the compatibility is, as I've never used one.
