    Ahh yes, seen that before. Superconductors are fun, as is liquid nitrogen :thumbsup:

    Yeah but liquid can freeze off your fingers in a heartbeat.

  5. Sounds like a reasonable precaution to me.

    I think Anti's been doing some things of this sort with a club he's in at his university. Apparently they do demos at various functions around the campus/town - he was telling me about a large superconducting magnet they use to routinely levitate some lucky volunteer a few inches off the ground.

    The behavior of metals approaching absolute zero has always fascinated me.

    Is that an extension of that "make anything with water in it magnetic" resonance chamber they had a few years ago with a frog floating in the middle?
