FM Towns games that need a floppy drive

I recently saw some picture of the FM Towns Car Marty. It's a great piece of hardware. However it does not have a floppy drive.

Are there many games for the FM Towns that need a floppy drive?

I have seen only CD games or games that have CD and floppy. Do some games need the floppy to boot?

 

Some of the games such as Alone In the Dark require a floppy disk to save on to and won't allow you to play the game without the floppy disk.

Other games require you to insert them to boot but most of the good games (IMO) don't require a floppy disk. These include Chase HQ, Super Street Fighter 2 etc.

 

There are a few doujin games (although admittedly most are adult) that run off floppies.

 

So, most of the games directly boot from CD.

Is there a gamelist available for the FM Towns which shows the media type and boot method?

 

so for best compatibility it would be better to get the FM Towns Marty home system instead of the Car Marty.

 

@WindowsKiller: Do you know the usual prices for the FM Towns Car Marty and the FM Towns Marty console?

btw, is it true that both FM Towns Marty I and FM Towns Marty II are equipped with an 386 processor? oldbits told me that the Marty II is the same as the Marty I in a slightly modified case. However a lot of websites say that the Marty II is equipped with an 486 CPU.
