2. Its ok. 2 games, genocide and genocide 2. Both are alright side scrollers fighters. Mad Stalker is much more fun than both imo.
Yeah I had the first one on SCD was rediculously hard not to get hit by the silly robo snakes :emb: Anyone know details of specified controllers )i.e. 4D car requires kb/mouse?)
Gaijinpunch, Genocide Squared works on my Marty 1, it takes a while to load, you may think that the system cant read the game, but you must be patient. This happens with many Marty games, slow loaders the SOBS!. While Genocide 1 is a pretty straight forward action game, it is way better than the PCE CD version, i was really impresed with its graphics after having played de Duo game first, it also plays better due to smother animation. Genocide 2, in my opinion feels like Strider, but with mechs!, sure, your character feels clunkier than Hiryu, but thats because it is a freaking robot. By the way i think Gen2 is way better than Gen1. I have found that you need the following peripheals with this titles: Wing Commander (needs keyboard) Amaranth (needs mouse) Operation Wolf (needs mouse) Ultima 6 (needs keyboard) I dont have neither, the keyboard or the mouse, so i am really mad!
I know that Super SF2 Turbo does not work on any Marty model, but what about Samurai Spirits?, has anyone tried this game on their Marty, i saw one on auction, but i need to know if it will work on my console. What about Garou Densetsu 2? Lets keep this tread alive, there isnt enough info on the net for this console.
@Baseley09 You should remove Mahou Daisakusen from your list, since it will only run on a FM-TownsII computer. @saturndual32 Garou Densetsu 2 was never released, instead the FMT got Garou Densetsu Special. I've yet to see any pictures of it though.
Cool, updated, tho I dont think this is gonna be a deffinitive list I think someone is working on a proper bells and whistles one.
A chap I'm in contact with posted up his version of one here http://www.triggerzone.de/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1397 although I've spotted a few errors. The thing with marty/fm towns is that there are many games that people just aren't sure about, compatibility wise. Trial and error doesn't always help either. Some people can get Rayxamber to run fine on M2, others like me can't. Some games its down to the system RAM, others what OS Level the system is at. (and grief who the hell would want to source and try 100s of hentai titles. Rubbish!) And then of course some games won't run without the correct peripheral plugged in (ie key board or mouse). Some games need a game specific boot fd in order to load, some games need a generic fd (used for saving) just to actually load the game (like Underworld 1). I am working on a large database of all things fm towns/marty as a little pet project to keep me busy at the odd moment when I have nothing to do..but GoW/360 in general has really put paid to that. Expect to see it in about 2010 at the rate I'm going!
just to keep the thread alive, ive recently become quite interested in venturing into marty territory, but i know nothing of it.. what should i get, what are the gems for the system, pricey? any good sites with screenshots etc? the pce version of genocide is absoluteley atrocious, you say the marty version isnt? is there a similar difference between the SFC and marty version of genocide 2 ? (i think the sfc version is playable atleast)..
I can say for sure in general, that Genocide 2 is far better than Genocide which is a shambling mess, tho when I was 13 i loved it.......couldnt get anywhere mind those fucking worms....damn those robot worms. Genocide 1 does have badass music tho.....can anyone ripper me the intro music?
about FM Towns. i always wondered how you upgraded the ram*its a card thing? isn't it?*. and how hard it is to get the upgrades anymore. especially for the Computer one
The game and systems are down right pricy. Blame ebay and their sellers for inflating prices. Take for example Dream Stars Japan, that seller buys his items cheap on YHJ and sell them to us at 2x to 3x the original value. Have you noticed games like Marble Madness, Rainbow Islands, Kyukyoku Tiger, Splatterhouse priced at ~$300 on ebay. That's fkn ridiculous. If you just got into FMT, try playing a few games through an emulator like Unz (actual it's the only FMT emu) and see if there's enough games that's worth your time and money. I don't own a FMT computer or a Marty console b/c I'm very content playing through emulators. Emulation is very good especially with the new updated Unz. But if I find out a way to get Mahou Daisakusen to run on a Marty, I'll jump on the band wagon with my loaded coffer. Pick between a Marty 1 or 2 console, but don't bother with the Car Marty unless you have cash to burn. The Car Marty doesn't have built-in disk drive and you'll need a certain type of cable to connect it to a TV. The Marty 1 is common and cheaper, and you'll be alright playing games on this system, including the shmups and Sega & Taito ports. The Marty 2 is better though since it has a faster cpu and nicer color scheme. What type of games are you interested in anyway? It's hard to recommend anything when nearly all the best and most sought after games are expensive. I guess the only game I'll recommend to you now is Image Fight. It's well worth the small price tag and it's almost arcade perfect. You may feel it's alot tougher b/c of the way the screen scrolls. But it's Image Fight, it's suppose to be unforgiving. ;-)
Here is a link with a list of all the games released for the FM Towns computer (not just Marty), including some homebrew. http://www.galstown.ne.jp/9/ongaku/jumpjump/fmt.htm It includes the japanese titles as well as the american translations.
That's not a full list at all, sorry! There's well over 1000 excluding doujin. That list is just someone's list of isos. http://homepage2.nifty.com/ftowns/db/sdb.html is a bigger database.
