FM Towns Marty - problems with games..

Hello,
I don't know that is the right section of this forum, but I have some problems with my "new" FM Towns Marty console.
I bought in Japan last week, yesterday got package with Marty, controller, mouse and two original games: Truxton 2 and Raiden.

I have problems with starting these games, when I put CD to console disc drive, nothing happened. Console starts Marty menu, when I try to click on "CD" option, "CD Player" start, but no game..

I think laser in CD drive working well, because music from game, can by played in CD Player, as I mentioned earlier.

Maybe Marty needs a special boot diskette to start games?

No boot disk needed for either of those games.

I had a very similar problem years ago. Does the cd player try and run for a very brief moment before doing nothing?

I have no technical skills whatsoever but opened it up for a look anyway. I noticed there was a folded over, lever type bit of plastic, iirc located to the left of the cd area if you take the top of the console off. It looked like it should have been folded down but had clearly popped out (during shipping I assume). I pushed it back down and the cd player started working fine. Iirc it was a sort of locking mechanism for the cd lid that told the console that the lid was closed so it was ok to load the game.

So perhaps that might be it?

I tried it and of course game not start
I don't know what happened, maybe laser lens is in bad condition...

When I powered up console, after FM Towns logo change into next screen - now I put CD into drive and close it, screen goes black, some japanese letters appear in left bottom part of screen, CD mechanism works a little bit, and after 30-60sec, disc stoppep work and screen stay with this left bottom part

Maybe I will take a photo later.
