And I really really love it, even though I don't have much love for racing games. The only thing I don't like it's that it's a bit tough. Now, what I would really like to see is a Sonic game developed by Nintendo, but Yuji Naka said he would never let other people touch Sonic. I'll probably sound like a broken record, but, does anybody remember the time when a new Mario game was anounced? It was something special, because you knew it would be a great game, and Mario games only arrived every once in a while. Not anymore. Now Mario is everywhere except where he should be. So yeah, I just wanted to echo what other people have been sayng in the thread. It's not that I hate Nintendo, I like them and right now the only 128 bit console I have is the Gamecube. It's just that there is certainly room for improvment. Perhaps creating brand new characters for their games, wich they could later transform in comercial franchises, could benefit Nintendo in the long run. Things lke toys and cartoons, for example. By sticking Mario in everything, third party or their own, they are missing this. Creating best sellers in the industry with new IP is tough and risky, but very rewarding when it works. Just take a look a the best selling games of the last few years. Halo, GTA, MGS, Splinter Cell....some of these are now franchises that at one point started as brand new games, brand new characters. So it can be done.

i second everything you said. :smt023 and what nintendo's doing by these days anyway? Metroid games are done by retrostudios, Star Fox, The next mario kart (for the arcades), and donkey kong are all made by namco, The last F-zero games were made by sega, Mario Spin-offs are by camelot and co. So what the hell nintendo's working on right now? Zelda? is this the only thing they're on right now? pheeww... and i don't know how you could broke sonic more than it is right now. sonic is only the shadow of what it was before, and i would really like to see another compagny, like nintendo, doing another sonic. Nintendo couldn't f*ck up the gameplay, and that's the thing missing in the last sonic games .
Alright, hey, what about Mario & Luigi's Oregon trail?? That could be a winner! The wagon can be pulled by turtles instead of oxen, and instead of diseases, you could get messages like, LUIGI HAS A NON-DESCENDING TESTICLE or LUIGI HAS BEEN CASTRATED BY INDIANS and then they can use rag doll physics to make luigi fly off the wagon!
