    Howdy friends,

decided to unload the development Saturn that's been sitting in the closet for almost two years now. I'm not sure of what variety it is exactly (I'll leave that to retr0 ;-) ), but it includes what I believe is an early version of the Psygnosis "blue cartridge". Except that this one isn't blue, but a rather crudely sandwiched PCB between two sheets of metal.

The Saturn itself appears to be a standard HST-3200 grey Saturn, with a Cross Products Virtual CD board installed as well as what I believe is the NMI cable.

It works perfectly, identical to a Japanese Saturn (ie 100v/NTSC). Here you can see it booting the cartridge:

(I believe the card's firmware is loaded in battery-backed SRAM, lacking that it just shows the loader which is pictured above)

And here it's playing Gokuyou Parodius Da (Parodius Deluxe Pack):

I bought this with the intent to use it for development, but I haven't been able to find the ISA card required to load programs to the cartridge. Plus, dev using this setup isn't that different from using a PAR with comms-card, anyway.

Here's a shot of the cartridge:

But the best part is yet to come! This FANTASTIC machine incorporates not one, no my friend, but TWO power LEDs!

NOW is your chance to own this unique piece of history! A truly unique collector's item! Become a REAL collector, no, a man of taste with this gem (boastful elitist attitude not included) :icon_bigg

Nah, but seriously, I have no idea what's up with the LED's, but I'm pretty sure it's two of them sitting next to one another, and both light up simultaneously (regardless of CD/VCD setting).

I'm not sure of the current price for these things, but in the past I've been offered 200e for it, so I'm trying that for now. International shipping available (insured), contact me for details or any questions.

The two power leds is normal for that Saturn model. Both of my JPN units have them.

    Anyway, free bump!

Oops, never noticed that, even though I did play on a grey Saturn a few times at a friend's place :banghead:

Is this a PAL or NTSC model?

Have you tested it with any development software, or are there other pieces required to use it as a development kit?

Pardon my stupidity, but is there a specific ISA card needed or would any comms-card like ISA card work?

In fact it requires a certain SCSI card - I've never been able to figure out if it has to be Psygnosis-specific or just use the same chipset, though.
