To bad it is the 1.6 version! I can see that from the picture. I am still looking for that non 1.6 crystal case. They are just so hard to find in the USA.

 

How can you tell by the picture it's a 1.6?

 

I knew that someone would ask that question.

If you look at the rectangular barcode sticker area. On 1.0-1.5 they had 1 extra screw then the 1.6 console does. On the non 1.6 consoles there is a plastic anchor for the screw to attach to. That anchor happens to be basicly touching the barcode sticker. If you look at a HALO or Debug that you have most likely it is going to be a non 1.6 and you will see the screw and then look at the picture he has and you will see what I am talking about.

I learned this because 1 day I got a HALO console that had a original 1.6 in it and I was pissed off. I hate 1.6 consoles. Then I thought maybe I could see that extra screw and I was right. I took this trick and used it to make sure that I did not get another 1.6 HALO console. It is just so simple. I might take pics later today. I have both versions on the HALO console so it would be easy to show a comparison shot.

 

I'm very interested in seeing this comparison. When you get the chance to snap a picture please do share

Thank you for posting the pics. That is exactly what I was talking about. All 3 see thru consoles can come with a possible 1.6. Blue, Green and Blue.

I want to find even just the clear bottom from a non 1.6 case. I could even send you the 1.6 bottom as part of a trade for it. My OCD is what is bugging me to get find it. I use version 1.1 motherboards for myself only.

 

Hmm, guess my crystal xbox is a 1.6 as well.

 

Trust me if it is from canada then it is gonna be a 1.6. Until I see a non 1.6 come from canada I am gonna believe that they all are 1.6's.

So EU 2004 crystals with a screw place might be below the label... dont want to open it, but a 2004-02-04 is 1.4 or something, nice.
Cannot check my other crystal yet. So Canada has allot of 1.6 crystals
