Just had a package arrive from Silverbolt today containing a PAL copy of G-Darius, but upon booting it with my Game Hunter on my PSX, I was greeted with the evil 50hz PAL signal problem. My Playstation is a NTSC unit, but the game is obviously instructing it to output a PAL signal. Is there any method of forcing a NTSC output on the game, possibly a feature on my Game Hunter device? I thought I vaguely remembered it being capable of something of that sort...
Thats what I hate about sony. They have had that console for 10 years and not enough deceny to finally make availible how the games boot. (doesnt make sense but I still hate sony)
one advantage of having PAL TV is it ill sync with just about anything... sorry not much of help. I use chipped PAL PSX and never have any problem... but then I rarely play PSX... cheers
perhaps making a backup and patch the iso? or either play on pc with emulator looks alot better than on tv with filters and uber higher resolution. :smt067
my problem with emulator is P4 is missus and she doesn't like me tweaking/changing her PC... heh mine's ancient PowerMac from late 90s... I've been planning to build one for me but never get around to do it... cheers
Well, the reason I traded for the game was to have the original to play in the first place, thus if I were to make a backup it would sortof defeat the original purpose. And emulation really isn't an option, as I'd kindof like to play on the original hardware with the proper speed and such.
Anti, have I told you I love you lately?? :-D I checked out that link you sent me (thanks for reminding me, I totally spaced MegaGames!!) and found a beautiful little utility that will scan a PSX game's .EXE file and provide Action Replay codes for setting it to PAL or NTSC, and now G.Darius works like a dream (well, except for the screwy PAL aspect ratio, but it's totally PLAYABLE). Thanks a ton! And if anyone else has problems getting PSX games to run in one region or another, let me know, and I'll hook you up!!
