formatted xbox360 hdd, restore?

    some time ago i formatted the old 60gb hdd of my brother to use it as a usb hdd, but now i'm thinking to use it again in a xbox360 i might buy.
    is there any way of getting it back working? i had a backup of it which i made using winhex i blieve...but the hdd containign it broke down :(

    There's guides to make random non-MS-approved HDDs work in a 360; iirc those involve copying a security sector (or sth. like that) to the HDD. I'd hazard a guess that that might be all that's needed to get yours working again, i.e. there's probably no need to restore a full image.

    i did read about that but was unsure. is this ban save? i'm also litttle bit scared in braking the hdd.

    No bans, this would be extremely unfair to those who fell for fake drives being sold all over eBay.

    really? i always thought they might ban you after a while.

    but how dose this work with a 60gb drive? all i read is about bigger ones.
