Formatting in the orthodox way takes much longer than Quickformat. You shouldnt have any trouble Quickformatting it ;)

I formatted it in xp using 64k clusters for large files.

And it just took that damn long.

GaijinPunch, that could be an uncompressed cinema porn. A single file for 1.5TB;)

    1080p porn?

It's actually for HD TV rips, an hour show is 4GB.

hehe, let's not forget that the only 1080p porn people will be watching is on HD-DVD and not Bluray if I recall!

Btw, a cinema movie that is 1.5TB uncompressed is at much higher resolution than 1080p. There's a good reason they re still kept on reels

Yeah, I remember my HTML design teacher saying that he and a group of others were working with "True" sound files which were 500 megabytes big before compressing. What is the extension for a true sound file like that anyways?

And I thought Wavs were huge.

There you go, just something about wavs:
And they say something about uncompressed WAVs too..so I presume its uncompressed?

It's an external box, it's just three 500gb drives spanned, I'm using it to help me organize before I raid everything. I have to empty the drives first then initiate..

    http://www.maxstore.com/product.asp?sku=3163984

For some reason the best buy by me had it for $500 on sale.
    Instant snag.

This store makes mistakes all the time, once I went to buy a ream of paper, she scanned the barcode and it
rang up the same price as ONE ream, for a case. $5.50 for a case of HP laser paper.

What do you use to rip the TV stuff? I assume it comes straight off the box somehow?

I don't think I'll be buying another Maxtor OneTouch drive after mine had problems. The customer service was horrible; they didn't know what on earth they were doing (both via email and phone).

Oh don't talk to me about Maxtor, I recently misplaced the CD to my Maxtor one touch external drive and as I stuck a password on the drive, I couldn't access the files, no problem I though, just download them, except you can't. So contact customer services who were not much help and wanted me to spend $20 for another CD, in the end copied one from a download site... >_< Still the drive is good and has taken a number of knocks from being moved around a lot.

I also recommend Maxtor - I put a 160GB SATA 3.5" drive in an enclosure after removing it from a PC build I left in the UK. Runs sweet as a nut, very quiet too.

Western Digital can rot though
