The former Hammer Horror home Bray Studios is to be demolished. The listed Down Place will be converted into a residence for the current owner, whilst the other studio buildings will be knocked down to make way for residential buildings and a "media centre" for his other business. (For those in the UK, his other business produces Katie and Peter: The Next Chapter - quality stuff... not!) The studio was used in several Doctor Who episodes, and numerous other television productions including Space:1999, Terrahawks and Red Dwarf. It was also used for non-Hammer films such as Alien and The Rocky Horror Picture Show, and by bands to set up their tour stages and rehearse before their tours. Another sad loss in the history of the British film industry. It seems that this country doesn't care about the industry's heritage, sadly! Anyway, what can we do? Well, probably not much, but it's worth showing your support! this would be a great loss, i went there about 10 years ago on a hammer films open day, next to video games, collecting/ watching hammer films would be my favourite pastime.
