Hi everyone. I just got back from the thrift shop with 2 great finds! I know most people would say to put this in the great finds/trades area but I have a question about one of the items so I made a topic insted. The first thing I would was a TINY genesis 3 system. It had 1 game 2 controllers and both cords in great shape! got it for 20 bucks. Then at the back of the store I saw a old Playstation. I looked at the model and it was scph-9000. I live in american and was like WTF!!! then I saw where it said NTSC-J I had found a ntsc-j PS in a US thrift shop lol. It was 4 bucks with no cords or anything so I got it to. My question is can I hook up the PS with a normal power and video cord, or do I need something for voltage. I would guess not as that seems to be the case only for pal items but I wanted to make sure before I plug it in and toast it. Any help would be great! Thanks!
Thanks for the tip. I just tested both out and they work great. I was happy when the PS turned on, then I was REALLY happy when it read a music CD ok. I have been after a cheap JPN PS for a while now to pick up a few choice imports. The menus are a little hard to read but thats part of the novelty. I have no idea why someone would have gottem rid of it. Cosmetically its fine and it runs great. Oh well, my gain.
