Found this "Prototype" cart of Banjo Tooie on eBay. Too good to be true?

Stumbled across this a few days ago on eBay AU. However it looks pretty sketch and I didn't have high hopes for it.

Correct me if I am wrong - this is one of those cartridges that *may* have been used during development, but once taken out of the dev kit - the contents would erase (Like that Twelve Tales cart that appeared a while back).
The sticker - not too sure if that's right or not. 256Mbit cart + 256K. And some scribble on the back.
The seller had it for $2K BIN, now for $1200 bidding. They won't allow local pick up and no shots of it working are there.

What do you think guys? Looks like a dev cart, but as to what is on it. No clue.
If someone wants to investigate further, please feel free to do (I sort of was tempted to get it, but knowing history of protos etc, it''s doubtful)

Seller makes zero effort to even mention whether it's different or not from the final. That means it's the final. Don't waste your money.

Don't power that thing up when you get it.
Rare carts have this weird deal where they erase themselves or something without proper equipment.
I think. I could be wrong.

Yeah that's what I was talking about with the whole cart erase thing. The seller says it's "Working", but no screenies or anything.

Based on the photo that's a regular N64 prototoype cart, not one of those special Rareware carts that needed to be hooked up to a computer with the build on it or whatever. That being said, as has been pointed out, unless you can get some evidence to the contrary, I wouldn't count on it being anything interesting.

Also, I think this might be a cart once owned by the previously mentioned user Bobo McCloud. You can see what I think is it in the top row, fourth from the left:
