Except the site doesn't seem to be working unfortunatly. Is it going to let us get coins for eligable games that were already registered, or do we need to register new ones? It would help it Nintendo made some games I wanted to buy lately.

Now I know I'm not the only one having problems with it. I switched over from the old My Nintendo membership and now it won't recognize my username and password. I would think they would give us coins for the stuff already registered. At least I hope so since I had bunch already.

Wow, you've only just got something?!?!

Hope it's better than the crappy European one! We get to spend our points on ringtones and wallpapers! Oh joy.

It finally works and its seeing my elligable games as 0 fucking coins. I should have 600 something if it lets you use already registered ones. How are we suppose to get 800 coins when theres not shit to buy except for DS?

At least you get something.. Sweden seems to have it's own service where you can't really do anything more then watch the upcoming releases for Wii.

We had to mail in our old wiimote straps in order to get them changed and that Wiimote silicon grip thingy that you we're supposed to get for free is impossible to get here. I ordered four around last xmas, they still haven't turned up. >_<

Just as an experiment, I tried registering every last piece of Nintendo hardware I own. I'm interested to know if anybody else has a different result?

NES top loader - This product cannot be registered.
Super Nintendo - This product cannot be registered.
Virtual Boy - Invalid PIN or serial number
N64 - This product cannot be registered.
Gameboy Color - This product cannot be registered.
Gameboy Light - Invalid PIN or serial number
Gameboy Pocket - This product cannot be registered.

It took the serial numbers for the Micro, the SP, and the Gamecube. I don't have a regular GBA to test, and I can't find my big green Gameboy or my front-loading NES to try. I'm a little surprised that import hardware is excluded, and the system seems to pretend that the Virtual Boy never existed.

Would it be possible for someone to give me a quick rundown of this?
So you just register all the Nintendo products that you have purchased over the years and get points that allow you to obtain free goodies??? What can you register? As said old Hardware does not work or what? What about games? Sorry, but I never got a chance to look into this, and would love to get free goodies... especially if they bring that Super Famicom controller for the Wii over!

You have to fill out their little survey before the coins will be added. If you click on the "earn coins" option, it will pull up a "to do" list.

Quick FAQ for existing My Nintendo members:

    1) Will my existing registered games/systems carry over?
    Yes

    2) Will I get coins for all my pre-existing registered games?
Maybe. They are not giving coins for games that are OOP. Example Battalion Wars II, although fairly recent Wii title, does not get coins. There's a full list of "older" games that work on the FAQ at club nintendo.

    3) I registered "XXX" game but it didn't give me coins even though its on the list, wtf?
If it's eligible you will get a new survey in your "to-do" list. Complete the survey to earn your coins.

I successfully switched over my account - all my games came along as well. I completed a buttload of surveys and earned coins for all of them. I registered new games that I hadn't bothered adding yet (BWii, Brawl, Wario Shake It, etc.) and if they were "eligible" I got surveys/coins for them.

I have over 800 coins, and earned "Platinum" status at 600.

The site is a bit fucky right now (still), so good luck with logging in etc. Otherwise just be patient and try again later.

The only hardware eligible to register is any piece of hardware that Nintendo was focusing on at the time of inception of the registration system. Nintendo didn't start including codes with its games until 2004 I think, so naturally the Gamecube and GBA games would have them, as well as the hardware units. That being said, you only get points for certain games released so far, but all Nintendo games published from this month onward will count for something.

It only gave me credit for the recent purchases...
Also, it makes you do a SURVEY for each title to
    get the coins.

So far with four games it's only 170 coins..

Don't register your games yet!! Go to the "future purchase" tab
and say you're buying all those games next week, then register them in
the time frame you selected. You get ten more coins per registration!!

I'm just hoping we get something really good for "platinum membership" Isn't that how japan got the wii famicom controller? What has Europe gotten for platinum status?

"How can I reach Gold or Platinum status?
Gold or Platinum status is based on the number of Coins earned in a Club Nintendo year. Each Club Nintendo year begins on July 1 and ends on June 30. If you earn 300 Coins during a Club Nintendo year you will reach Gold status. Earn 600 Coins during a Club Nintendo year and reach Platinum status!

Club Nintendo members that reach Gold or Platinum status by the end of the Club Nintendo year, will be sent a special reward. Special rewards will be announced shortly after June 30 and shipped later in the year. Your status will reset annually on June 30."

Is it actually working yet? I can't get it to load. It already had all my games up because I registered them back before club Nintendo existed for us.

I just did it and it only game me points for certain pre-determined games. Even some new games I bought and just registered didn't get credit. I think this stinks. You should get SOMETHING for every game you register, even if its just one point. You can migrate your old existing Nintendo account and it takes everything you put in the system before, so even with the surveys it goes pretty quick.
