And I will just copy and paste: As previously reported, customers who received a copy of Sony's PlayStation 2 subscription 2004 Holiday Demo Disc were in for a nasty surprise if they played the Viewtiful Joe 2 demo, in the form of an entirely deleted PS2 memory card. By way of apology for missing this major flaw in the demo disc, Sony has presented those who actually had their memory card wiped with their choice of a free PS2 game from a list including Wild Arms 3, Parappa the Rapper 2, Gran Turismo 3, Sly 2: Band of Thieves, NCAA 2004, MLB 2004, Athens 2004, ATV Offroad Fury 3, and Hot Shots Golf 4. Those wanting their free game, providing your memory card was really wiped, can call 800-345-7669 and give their PlayStation 2 serial number, name, and address to receive one.
Bah, a 800 number...But eh, for those who's memory cards were (and wern't) whiped, it's a pretty good deal.
I got the warning postcard a few days before the demo disc, thank my friggin stars. I would've flipped out if I lost all my save data, a greatest hit game probably wouldn't have helped
Call me neurotic, but almost all PS2 saves have backups on a memory card just for that. I'm planning to get that USB thing to backup them on the PC. I would do that for PS1 games as well, but i need to get a DexDrive. Anyway, just think of me losing my 100% complete GT3 save file. I would kill everybody!!! :smt067
so , you just need to call, say your serial number of your ps2, you adress and that's it? right? :smt030 who knows if you own the demo? :-D
