Windows Movie maker is not doing it for me.

Main reason is I can only save projects as WMV so files are converteed up to 3 times and there's no Resolution flexibility

I'd like something I can use to edit my videos and then save in whatever format and Resolution I want.

    Suggestions?

VirtualDub (though it isn't super flexible with containers.)

Shell out the money and pay for Sony Vegas. Its semi difficult to learn to use but is amazing and you really get more than what you payed for. I have yet to find a real complaint in it (apart from the piss poor save times I get when rendering HD for whatever reason)
