After headaches with Veoh, You Tube and Metacafe I finally decided to just host everything myself. Anyways I wrote the first article for the Retrocade Fantasia blog about Dreamcast games of undefinable genre. It's a bit short but this might be an article that I'll be doing every so often. http://retrocadefantasia.blogspot.com/2011/11/what-hell-genre-is-this-i-think-that.html and the URL for the new site i s http://retrocadefantasia.blogspot.com/ Every Retrocade to date is on there
I wanted to make Retrocade legit so I took down the videos that had content matches and reedited them. Put them back up and posted them on Archive.org as the download versions. Magically content Ids are gone and everything is nice and legit. I wait a few days everything is reposted...NOT ONLY does it still say I have content IDs (which when I click on check matches nothing is there) I can no longer post anything over 15min. The other issue with you tube is their filter is completely broken. I post pieces of music I KNOW are public domain but a content match will come up anyway for some company that doesn't even exist. After trying Meta Cafe and Veoh as the new host I finally just said fuck it made the blog and embeded the archive.org versions. Although something metacafe's "Tribunal" caught made me realize I need to re-reedit the 3rd Retrocade because it just had an odd flow to it. Not being on you tube though I do have a bit more freedom to do what I want with Retrocade. Episode 7 includes the Yayuken end credits which no way You Tube would have let me post and Episode 10 will have my popular "hot japanese girl" music video segment that agian NO WAY would I get away with on You Tube Nothing hardcore I'm not going to turn Retrocade into hardcore porn (which somebody did suggest I do) But for the target audience it's a nice little diversion to listening to my annoying voice for an hour and a half. But now that I have a blog I can actually write stuff in between episodes. But now I face the problem of actually alerting people to the fact this thing exists.
Bad news on YouTube clamping down your uploads to 15 minutes. I do have an idea though. You could just put a short add on YouTube telling people about the latest show and add a link to it. Yakumo
