Got a VA5 Saturn fitted with a region-free BIOS and modchip. Works beautifully.

Package deal comes with the Saturn above, one controller, one power cable, one A/V cable (composite) and one blank Taiyo Yuden CD-R (top shelf quality). Everything is fully tested and 100% wife approved and I will fit in a brand new CR2032 battery just prior to being shipped.

Total price with shipping to anywhere within the United States: $130

Willing and happy to do international shipping but it will be more than the above figure. I also have additional controllers on hand if they are desired but they are extra. Somewhere around here I have an Interact memory cart if the buyer is interested.

On hand I do not but if you wish to have one done I can be commissioned for the job.

As far as I know the chip fitted for this model 2 is also compatible with the model 1.

i've always hated calling them Model 1 and Model 2. ugh

anyway, the April 1996 ones were the last systems to use the Oval buttons in the US. THey are my favorite system as they combine the oval buttons, the disc access light, and the japanese style controllers. hardware wise, they have mostly the same parts as the "model 2" systems, so 21 pin mobo, 64pin cd

about how difficult is it currently to do one of these? what would the cost be to have you done one vs having you provide the chips for them?

I charge $30 to install a BIOS chip and I have yet to decide on pricing for modchips as of yet. Haven't gotten my stock in.

~88 fine soldering points that are easily damaged.

That's a better rate than I'd expected, tempting. I have been putting off mods rather long now.

As soon as I get my modboards from Trenton_net I'll be offering pre-modded Saturns with or without BIOS chip swaps. The going rate for a tricked out model is $150 but not everyone is that bothered by the fact they just need to patch an image before burning.

OTOH some people just want to play originals and find the idea of a modchip to be disgusting. To each their own.

Heh, I haven't actually checked if this white saturn has a modchip.

Hi! Are you still selling this unit? I'm interested in getting a modded saturn myself, please let me know.

This one is long gone but I'm in the process of acquiring two more Saturns to modify. Send me a PM and we can discuss the details.

Hmm...this sure is tempting...I have one modded with a switch and a mod chip, but not having to switch it would sure be nice...

I can install the same BIOS into your existing Saturn and repurpose the switch if you like.
