FS: DAMAGED Xbox system (Halo Special Edition)

I have one of those green Halo edition Xbox consoles that boots to the dashboard and includes all the relevant pieces. How did it end up in this condition? Long story short, my shelving unit collapsed and the console took a bit of a tumble in the process. Let's just say I'm pissed and I want this thing out of my sight.

Couple of issues:
*The top of the system casing has 1 large and 1 smaller crack running horizontally---rest of the system appears to be in good shape
*System boots to the dashboard. DVD drive motor is either broken or something as it won't open or close. Discs won't read.
*The original Halo-jewled Controller is included, it's in ok shape (works I think) but it too has some marks and slight separation around the handles.

I'm selling this as is. Take it or leave it, please don't PM me about how you can find new units on eBay for cheaper or whatever. I don't have the time to mess around with this, but I'm sure somebody here can either fix it or part it out for a modded unit.

You can switch out the DVD drive with another one, just switch the face plates to match the color, and then you'll still have your precious xbox.

To be honest, I have a regular Xbox as a backup.
Lately though, with my work schedule being what it is, I don't really have the desire or time to fix this.

I come home from work and noticed all this stuff on the floor...apparently one of the shelves in my sectional entertainment center gave way at some point and took down pretty much everything with it. The Xbox was lying upside down sort of buried under a few other things.

Too bad I had this one in my entertainment center and not my standard edition xbox. Oh well.

How old is your entertainment center? You should sue the manufacturer for failing to properly design the product :-D

Edit: If you just liked the green case, there are third parties that make good green cases. They're not too expensive... As for the DVD drive, it sounds like you'd need to get a new one.

 

Nah, the entertainment center is a few years old and it was something my dad had assembled anyway, so I'll just leave that issue alone for the time being!

I'm sure this could very well be an easy fix or a good source of parts for someone who likes to mod consoles. The DVD drive is definitely ruined, and I'm not sure about the hard drive either. SInce it boots to the Dashboard, I''m guessing it could still be OK. In any event, it's still available...first one with the $$$ gets it.
