Up for sale are two items, both modded Genesis systems. First up is a Fully modded Genesis Model 1, which has the following mods:
    -Component video out
    -S-video out
    -Composite video out
    -Stereo audio out
-JP/US Region switch & widened cart slot
    -10MHz overclock
    -Halt switch
-Red LED replacement (it's much brighter now).

System comes with 1 set of AV wires, 1 ProPad6 controller, and a CIB copy of Super Street Fighter II. Unfortunately, I do not have a spare AC adapter to include, but this shouldn't be hard to find, if you don't already have one. Oh, one thing: for the component mod, i cranked up the resistance on the sync in line to eliminate the vertical bars that are present in the model 1 systems as best I could, but as a result, it sometimes takes the Genesis a couple seconds to sync up properly. Video of that is included.

    Price shipped: SOLD!

Next up is a modded Model 3 Genesis. The mods done to this system are:

    -S-video out
    -Virtua Racing compatibility fix
    -Game Genie fix
    -RGB outputs restored.
-Red power LED added to front of system.

System comes with 1 set of AV wires, 1 s-video cable 1 6 button controller (the one that was originally included with the system), and AC adapter.

    Price shipped: $75.00 OBO.

Don't like the prices? Shoot me an offer, worst is that I'll say no! :) International buyers are also welcome to buy, but will have to pay the appropriate shipping. Any questions/requests/offers, please let me know! Thanks!

I would buy this if it had the RGB mod.

Which RGB mod? The AV jack already outputs pure RGB, or at least it should, since all the signals are there.

Huh, it looks like they are disconnected at the AV out.

Brownvim (and anyone else interested): I can add those in for ya, if you're interested. It isn't much work on my end and not much cost involved either, so I can keep the price the same.

Some seem to have the RGB signals connected from the factory. This confused me, as the Model 3 I have is like this. I went to do the RGB mod only to find it all the pins were already all connected.

I should hook it up to confirm, as I just did a continuity check from the video encoder to R,G,B pins and they seemed connected.

Interesting, I was not aware of that.
There are two distinct mobo variants of the Model 3, maybe this is related?
Pal Vs NTSC might be related too.

There is no PAL Model 3 AFAIK, it was a US only thing?

I am opening it up again now to confirm, as I do not like posting misleading info.

Pictures and confirmation/retraction to follow shortly.

    Edit:

Inserted a Mega Drive 2 RGB Scart lead.

Measured from pin 23 of the CXA1645 to the R pin on the scart socket - 75ohm resistance.

    Same for green and blue.

So yes, this is RGB from factory.

    Here are the traces.

    Bad_Ad - is that a VA1 or 2?

Also, can you take a measurement from the CXA to the red out on the AV jack to eliminate the possibility of resistors in the SCART cable?

The cable has a 75ohm resistor in it, which is what the 75ohm measurement is.

here is the underside, showing those traces leading to the AV connector:

According to this picture its a VA1:

Ok, that makes sense. The VA2 had some additional removals of components. When I looked at the traces on the 1645 on the VA2 i have for sale, they went nowhere. They must have removed them with the revision.

Yeah, I would expect if one revision had them and one didnt - it would be the earlier one that did.

However, it just goes counter to the whole internet saying the Model 3 doesnt output RGB - it does, but only the VA1 it seems.

The thread hasn't been bumped in 9 months - you're probably better off sending a PM.
