For Sale / For Trade : Tri Force Revision A motherboard (UK). EXPORT rather than Japanese.

    ON HOLD

This motherboard has finally been fully tested as working (see images). However, please note that the buyer will need to purchase a V3.17 DIMM board (Sega Shed or eBay). Ensure that the DIMM has 512Mb of RAM. It's straight forward PC100 type, so if you get a DIMM with less memory, don't panic. Once you have the correct DIMM you'll also require the Naomi GDrom hardware seen in the image(s) below.

Older versions of DIMM simply won't work!

What you are getting is a fully working, fully tested Namco / Sega / Nintendo (Tri Force) arcade motherboard. It works perfectly with a Capcom I/O, or with within a Naomi Universal cabinet.

£100.00 PayPal or bank transfer, plus P&P. An extra £50.00 will also secure the Export version of Virtua Striker 2002 (tested).

I would trade this motherboard AND the Virtua Striker GDrom / dongle and Manual for a Naomi 2 motherboard. (Equivalent value £150.00).

If it doesn't sell, no worries - it's a cool little item so quite happy to keep it. Just thought one of you Nintendo guys out there might get more fun out of it than me given it's pedigree ;-)

oo. =( Too bad you're not looking for an atomiswave as trade.

Man it's sad this thing got so few software. If someone is not a hardcore soccer/football fan there is nothing to play.

The DIMM is the additional connection board (called a media connection) that the Revision A motherboard uses to load software.

If you look at the images you should see the blue plastic DIMM board with the silver metal plate on it.

Right, now the DIMM came in two versions. The V3.17 firmware version is the one that the Naomi 2 and Tri Force requires. It can be easily obtained from Andy at Sega Shed.

    Hope that helps!

Which version does VF 5 FT require? V3.17 should be fine for it as V3.17 is the last version is it not? Or do you mean you have the older DIMM hardware?

Right, contact Andy at Sega Shed, he does them for £100.00. I have seen them cheaper, but frankly I have also seen them turn up from other sellers faulty. He is one of the biggest Sega supplies people around.

    http://triplemoonstar.brinkster.net/segashed/default.asp?stockid=1717

He usually ships it with 256Mb stick installed. If so, then just pop in another stick of PC100 x 256Mb and you are laughing.

If I remember rightly, that is a Japanese Baseball game. You would need to get in contact with the seller to determine whether it is JAPANESE or EXPORT version. I suspect it won't run on my motherboard as it is EXPORT ;-)

As you can probably see, V_R isn't part of my sales strategy lol

It's actually a pretty cool game - atleast if it is anything like the original version on the System 573.

Any clue where the bios is stored? Does it look like there is a removable bios chip (naomis were changeable).

It's not like the Naomi motherboard as far as I can tell. I have to admit though, it's a strange build and I decided not to pull the entire unit apart just in case I damaged it.

The main motherboard is actually the last board in the stack ;-)

I'll see whether Andy can confirm whether the BIOS is interchangeable.
