If you said they were uncommon then that would be true, but saying that they are like gold dust is a bit of a fib, they are Japanese and as of last week there were at least 4 that you could buy for around the price you are asking for in Akihabara, Tokyo, Japan. and they do appear on yahoo auctions quite often.

 

Fair enough. I edited it. I guess I should say trying to find a copy while in the US was difficult for me and others I know who have looked for a long time and still haven't found one. Also, I am sure you guys are all much more skilled at finding import items than I am, I mean, I have never even looked at yahoo auctions ;p - I looked regularly on trader forums and eBay with no luck for 1-2 years or they were priced extremely high.

I'm sure you could find one relatively quickly if you wanted to pay a premium or if you knew someone in Japan.

What about the dev book? Can you pick it up in Japan pretty easily as well I've only seen one for sale once. But again, you guys probably see this shit all the time considering the type of site this is
