FS: Halo 2 Multiplayer Beta, and documents, very rare!!

Well although ive not done alot of dealing here on these forums, i have a couple of guys you can ask here for references, had no problems with the previous dealers i have dealt with on this forum.

I'm based in the UK, England, South Yorkshire, if you close enough i may allow collection in person with cash on collection.

I WILL ship pretty much worldwide depending on your exact location so do ask, the US etc isn't a problem!

Alright with that out of the way, here i have for sale a very rare item indeed, its the only one i know of in existance, when i originally bought this little lot, it litteraly cost me an arm and a leg.

I'm now in need of the cash, so a quick sale is what i'm after, and i prefer Halo 1 anyway so ive kind of ended my Halo 2 collection for now.

Basically i'm looking for around £350 GBP, or same as in USD etc or best offer.

This really does have to sell, providing i get a good enough offer, its sold!

Basically what you get is in the pictures, there are various bits and pieces of documentation that go along with the disk, and of course the Halo 2 MP Beta disk itself. When i originally bought the disk i was told the disk could very well have different things on it, such as other types of cars etc they took out before launch, aswell as having differences in maps, i have no idea if this is the case. I also believe the menu on these beta disks to be completely different to retail, and people have said in the past you could use some of the beta material in the retail one if you knew what you were doing!!

I'll be honest, i tried this in a retail modified xbox, it started to (after about 20 attempts) and says some stuff on screen about it being a beta etc, then it came to a menu i had to agree on, i tried to go further and it wouldn't let me, since then ive not been able to do it again, i believe the xbox DVD drive to be useless, hence i couldn't get any further or load the disk this far again!

The disk is in great condition, i can't personally see anything on it to call any damage, so to me it appears good as new!

I can accept payment via PayPal (will be using my father-in-laws account, which is verified and i always use his, if you intend to use PayPal, i will only accept payment from verified accounts also!) I will also accept personal cheque in the UK, but will have to let it clear first before the goods are sent. Also will accept UK postal order, or cash on collection as above.

As stated above, best offer will take it if the price i'm asking isn't met. Obviously i won't let it go for nothing though.

Shipping:

I will ship this for free in the UK via a good service, maybe special delivery, packaged well.

If in the US etc then we will have to discuss shipping, but can send insured or whatever is possible to do at the time.

Sorry for the rather long post, but i tried to cover everything i could think of.

Same here. $700 is probably a bit steep for something that did get released and is afaik 100% useless in it's existing form. At best you might be able to hack the beta levels into the final and see some differences.

 

Price seems very steep for what you get. Beta as far as I know was onlline only so what you get is a great shelf sitter and discusion piece. Unfortuently for those of us not involved with the beta test that leaves less to discuss. Best luck on the sale

 

Yeah you are correct there it would have to go to someone whos skilled with Halo moding for it to be any use. Also there is another person I know who has this from another forum who was talking about modding the maps in.

Also to point out for people who don't know the beta wont work online because as you can guess the severs are long gone

Well thanks for the replies, shame no one has seen a real use for it yet.

I won't even begin to explain how much i originally paid for the disk and documents when i bought them because now your all making me feel really ripped off :crying:

As i stated though, shoot me your offers, you never know what i'll end up taking.

I just need the cash or i'd rather keep it myself.

Any offers are appreciated, and will of course be taken into consideration.

Also if it helps people, i'd also consider items of trade, or trade with cash, but would prefer cash right now.

Consoles i'm interested in are: xbox, 360, DC, and sega saturn.

You really don't have to feel ripped off at all. What you have is very very rare and theres only a few left in the world because they were meant to be sent back to Bungie after the use but you are one of the lucky ones to one. I can't offer much really all i have is my xbox 1 as I'm not willing to part with my 360

 

He is right, very few of them exist in private hands to my knowledge, which is all of 2 right now including yours. While it is fundamentally useless as-is (and I'd wager probably pretty well the same as what got released map wise, don't know without checking) it is a nice piece of history and a piece you can frame.

Any Halo 2 fan would love to have it, I know I would but it would break my bank account.
