Anyone interested in one of these short-lived DVD-games consoles?

I have an extra Samsung N2000 Extiva player with remote and manual. In excellent shape cosmetically and works perfectly.
Also included will be one HPI Warrior and TWO HPI Stealth controllers (one gray used and one transparent purple NEW IN BOX controller!) as well as mint and complete games --- Tempest 3000, Merlin Racing, Space Invaders XL, Ballistic, and Freefall 2050. Basically, all the games that were released except the 2 real rarities (Iron Soldier III and Next Tetris).

PM me with an offer. I have loads of great eBay feedback for verification.
    EDIT: Pic added!

Some things I want to clarify:

    1. The DVD player does NOT come with the original box. This is an extra unit I picked up and includes the player, remote control, video cables and documentation. Basically, complete sans the huge cardboard shipping box. Bear in mind that this is a 2001-era DVD player and larger than the compact/thin models that are being sold these days.

    2. This is an NTSC unit. PAL compatibility is unknown, so please do your own research in advance.

    3. All games are 100% original and are complete with original inserts, gold DVD cases, and discs. Everything is in excellent /near mint condition!

    4. Controllers are all loose, but in excellent condition! 2 are included so you can play Merlin Racing, Ballistic and Space Invaders XL with a friend!

I believe that should cover everything. Any further questions, please feel free to PM me! :) I can email a pic to anyone who is seriously interested! :smt023

  3. I'd love to see a pic, either posted here or e-mailed to me (greatsaintlouis at gmail dot com) and would like to know what exactly you're looking for, price-wise, for the system and Tempest 3000. Also, let me know if you'd be up for any sort of partial trade or anything. :smt023

Ooooh.. So tempting if it wasn't for the fact it'd have to be shipped to Australia..

Yes. Unfortunately the shipping costs would be very high. But I can ship if you really want it.

Update: bundle still up for grabs.

Also, I recently went through my storage boxes and discovered that I have another HPI STEALTH CONTROLLER (purple transparent color) - still sealed in the packaging!

I'm including this extra new controller with the bundle! :)

Nuon was a short lived DVD player/games console platform. Unfortunately, the games were so bad and the graphics so out dated by the time it hit the market that it was largely ignored, and not even known to exist by most. No advertising (that I can remember), nothing. It just came and went, and nobody cared (or even noticed).

    Not a problem. :)
It's still here if you want it!

It's not that the games were so bad and outdated, but the main reason why the platform failed could be blamed mostly on VM Labs' poor financial status and the general economic downturn around the time the Nuon launched in early 2000. VM Labs simply did not have enough money to keep the thing alive, hence the lack of games and advertising. Only Toshiba and Samsung initially jumped on the NUON hardware platform (and later RCA). Oritron and Apex were rumored to be working on their own Nuon-compatible players but that never materialized.

There was some advertising, and Best Buy was the big nationwide dealer that carried NUON systems and games (that's where I purchased the system and games from my collection). Other smaller high end electronics stores like Cambridge Soundworks also sold it, but they didn't carry it for long.

Interestingly enough, some DVD movies did come out with Nuon features enabled (complete with small Nuon logos on the back of the packages). Planet of the Apes, Buckaroo Banzai, Bedazzled, and Dr. Doolittle 2. Also interesting is the fact that homebrew games are being developed for the platform (though only the N501 and newer players can read them)...even a port of Doom runs on the newer Nuon systems.
