    I was going to ask if it's boxed, then I actually re-read the listing! Lol! I really like this model but is there any room for negotiation on that price because it seems pretty steep?

    Yeah, there is an additional board inside. I have a vague memory that the bios doesn't let you run xplorer/action replay/etc cartridges. I don't think anyone has figured out an exploit for VCD discs to run native code either, so if you want to run backup games then you'll need a mod chip.

    I don't know how many of them exist, but they are considered relatively rare in the collectors market. If Sony did millions of them then they are either still in use, or they got thrown away.

    Is the laser stock or original. Because early models are prone to wearing down and i recommend replacing the laser and swapping out the plastic laser covers.
