    I take it without the host to connect to, it's not useable in any way?

    Very nice piece of kit though, if I had the cash this month I would be very tempted.

    It's just the controller for the devkit.

    Much like a PS2 or Xbox, the devkit runs everything on the kit itself, with the PSP "unit" merely being a controller. If you've ever seen a N64 Wideboy with the GBC/GBA controller connected, it works in a similar manner.

    This allows developers to see what the game would look like on a PSP screen without having to order up a set of test UMDs from Sony.

    By itself it is little more than a collectible.
