I found these modchips in my loft the other day. I'm asking £15 each.

Funkstar, the top one is for model 2 and the bottom ones for model 1? What would it work out to in dollars with shipping to the states?

 

I may be interested in one of it will let me play backups. However I am in the states to so I would need the price for one plus shipping to the states. Please let me know if the above poster dosent take them all.

I think 30 is a bit much. I would do it if you were in the states but I have never had anything shipped from another country. How long does shipping from the UK to the US usually take?

Also you didnt tell me if it will let me play backups or not. Also what saturns (version) will it work on? Please let me know and I may be interested.

 

That will play backups, and shipping for something that size will be airmail, so a few days.

It won't play imports AFAIK, you would need a 4 in 1 cart for that. Also you'd need to check whether you've got a 21 pin or 20 pin Saturn, but that can wait.

well how do I tell which saturn I have? I have 5 diffrent saturns, 3 model 1 and 2 model 2. Hopefully it would work on one of them.

I have 2 of them region modded. Will the modchip have any problems with the softmod?

Also can you wait a 2 days. Im watching something on ebay that ends sunday and if I dont bid or it goes to high I will purchase 1 of them. So if possable please hold one for me. Thanks!

 

Air mail to the US will take about 3 days. I'm not sure how to tell what model you have, but with the new method of installation these chips will work with any model saturn.

Yes, they allow you to play backups, but I don't think imports. However when you back up you import disc you can use a region changer to patch the image before burning it.

 

do you happen to be able to link me to installation instructions for the chip. Also are all the chips you have the same?

I dont need it to let me play imports as I already have modded 2 saturns to play imports. (I used the mobo jumpers and a switch) I was just asking if I install the modchip into one of my saturns thats already region modded will they have any issues working togather? Anyway if you can please link me to installation instructions. And can you hold one until sunday evening?

 

There's some instructions here, but you should read this thread before you do any installation as it could save you some tricky soldering.

 

Model 1's have round power and tray open buttons plus the access light. Model 2's have oval buttons and no access light I do believe.

 

I had a look at the link and it looks semi-difficult. If I think im going to have trouble I will have my dad do it. He is awsome with a soldering iron.

Anyway that thread you linked me to is 30 pages long. Can you please sum up for me what it all means and how it would affect me?

I am interested in purchasing his chip as I said above. I am just asking questions as he didnt give much info about it. He didnt even say which model it is or anything. So its not like I can go look stuff up on yahoo. Forgive me if I sound brash but I am just trying to get information on the item he is selling.

 

Sorry, but I just know very little about them, hence the sale :-( I have installed one from this batch and it worked fine on my model 2 PAL Saturn.

 

ok well whats the best you could do for 1 chip shipped to the US? And can you wait until sunday night/monday morning for me to find out if I will have the funds?
