Sophia Systems Sega Saturn Programming Box, 3 additional sticks of RAM (bumps total to max @ 32Mb), JVC ST-RT-V2VCD Virtual CD Drive emulation card, spare CD-ROM drive, pad , power lead + av hookups.

Unlike most of them on sale previously, mine is a newer hardware revision made in 1996 - the majority were an older revision made in 1994

Overall the machine is in very good cosmetic condition.

    £250 / €375 / $450 For the above

    £25 Estimated UK shipping

    €75 / $90 Estimated International Shipping

With it being a Development Machine not only can you make games but you can also with the flick of the dip switches play games from any region!!

Total cost or payment plan is negotiable! Would possibly trade for something interesting of equivalent value.

I can take PayPal, bank transfer, £GBP Cash, UK Postal Orders or UK Cheque. Also half in advance and half upon eventual collection/delivery is also fine.

    HOWEVER!

If buyer collects, I will also include 5 NTSC-J Saturn games [Sega Rally, Christmas Nights Into Dreams, Virtual Hydlide, Clockwork Knight, Tomb Raiders], a SCART lead and a boxed PAL Official steering wheel.

If there are no takers by 8-07-2004 she goes up on eBay with £250 opening bid.

*Note: I don't have the cable to hook up the VCD Card (uses SCSI-2 HPCN50F) Also I don't have the development software.

    REMOVED

I wonder how long it will be before it's removed seeing as ebay is getting really tight assed about dev stuff being on ebay. :Hangman:

isn't CartDevRev.B is updated version of Sophia?
maybe I got it mixed but that's my understanding...

hope you can sell it on eBay as I was thinking of putting mine on eBay one of these days...

    cheers

I don't think the Cart Dev was an update to the sophia, although it did provide a more retail hardware based alternative and it was a hell of a lot cheaper to originally buy with mirage than it was to buy the more expensive sopia + vcd :smt023

On antime's site was the PDF with the 1996 prices, and the Sophia was still being sold then, and mine being made in 1996 also proves they were still around. The Sophia must have only been phased out by the developers preference, most likely because the cart dev had all the bells & whistles @ a much lower price :Hangman:

    .

was the CartDevRev.A similar to Sophia then?
I remember reading that Rev.A had several issues which were fixed in Rev.B with much reduced purchase price...

By the way Sophia is the name for DevSaturn in Europe right? Haven't heard that name mentioned in Japan... :smt017

    cheers

    ...

Sophia unit has many more extensive debugging features supported by hardware as it features an ICE for both SH2 CPUS.That is why it was so expensive in contrast to other options like the cartdev that did not provide such features.

The Sophia doesn't offer ICE at all.. you need an E7000 for that.
