ON HOLD1 x Taito Egret 2.5 (?*) Jamma Arcade Cabinet - Glasgow, UK.

    ON HOLD

    Seller: Parris
    Assemblergames: 100% feedback
Arcade Otaku: 98% feedback (always one eh!)
    Ebay: 100% feedback
    Jamma+: 100% feedback

Please read carefully to establish what an E2.5 is.

Imported from Japan as a converted Atomiswave cabinet and rebranded as Egret 2.5 ahead of an arcade expo in English. This is a fantastic cabinet featuring the benefits of Egret III with the beautiful decals and finish of the older Egret II.

    How does it differ?

Well, for instance the downside of 2.5 is that it DOES NOT have a rotate mechanism from horz / vert monitor positioning, which is a shame, but you can of course man-handle the monitor into vert / horz positioning as there brackets are equidistant allowing you the opportunity to play Shmups or horizontal titles like Metal Slug series.

So, is there a benefit? Yes! Better monitor, plus it is equipped with 15/24/31khz tri-sync flat monitor with both Jamma edge connector for 80s and early 90s gaming, plus VGA for those more modern games motherboards and titles on Naomi or Taito X2 etc.

Plus the internal PSU, wiring loom and guts are of better standard than Egret 2.

It also comes with very accurate repro side artwork, genuine Taito decals and genuine Taito Egret II 1 player / 6 button control panel. There's a reproduction marquee holder and move / instruction artwork.

The unit is of course 110vac, but a convertor is provided and should be wired in to ensure that only a 3 pin 240vac plug should be sticking out of the back of the unit.

All locks and parts work. Internally & externally this unit is in beautiful condition.

Sadly, I am leaving the arcade scene completely (far too busy these days) and so my pride and joy (built from 4 other Egret units to ensure it was pristine) has to go. The unit is fully functional.

Must be paid for immediately via PayPal or Bank Transfer. Collection available from Glasgow (I can assist with courier companies (average £100 cost in transporting a unit from one end of the country to the other)). Can hold the unit for a week or two.

I am off to France on 8th December so really need this to be dealt with rapidly to avoid disappointment.

PLEASE NOTE Space Invaders not included as already sold.

Snap this up now!!!! It will be gone v. quickly!

    GLASGOW, UK.

<If you wish me to bubblewrap this it takes a full bale and costs and extra £20.00>

(Remember in 2.5 the tate mech is NOT present)

Good mother of all that is holy are you certain you want to look up courier to Greece?

I have NO idea, but I have assisted in shipping around the globe before. I've had cabinets land up in Australia, USA, and come from Japan so it's within the realms of possibility.

You tell me if you are serious and then I don't mind wrapping this up to make it worthy of a moon bounce.

wow this is beautiful. This is a rather nice price too. How i wish i had money.
Just noticed this, personal information though.
It would cost me just a few pounds more to go to college next semester (which i am doing), then it would to buy this. hmm, i would be saving money if i bought this machine haha. >.< i would probably get bored and the trade off wouldn't be that beneficial in the long run.

Yes, I am serious. Although I will need to transfer the money (if we agree on this finally) in 2 doses. Is this ok with you?

I like the "moon bounce" wrapping ... I would like this unit to arrive the way I see it in the photos. Some more questions

    1) Does the monitor have any burn-in?

    2) The monitor rotates right? But not like the original Egret II does huh?

    3) Are there any cosmetic flaws on the outside?

    4) The control panel can be changed to a 2 player one right? I'm asking this cause its a Egret 2.5 which i have no idea about

Get some courier quotes and we shall discuss this further :)

    Regards

    Luke

    Luke,

    Well, if you are serious.

    1) Packaging would be bubblewrap, which you would need to pay for (an extra £20.00 would be more than enough). It requires a complete bale of wrapping, plus I would protect the monitor from shock / knocks / scratches.

    2) The monitor is pretty much blemish free. There is a tiny mark on the glass, but other than that nothing wrong with it. By the time it has travelled to Greece you can be sure that the chassis will require some minor adjustments to make the screen perfect, but that would be true of any CRT monitor of this type.

    3) The monitor DOES rotate, it just doesn't have the rotate mechanism. You'd have to pull the monitor forward and turn it for horz / vert and bolt it back in. A heavy procedure, but perfectly doable as I have done it several times.

    4) There are a few minor paint scratches and scuffs, but it has come from Japan and only to be expected considering age. They are minor blemishes and the unit actually looks beautiful.

    5) You can indeed change the 1p panel to 2p CP. No additional wiring is required and the 1p CP is highly sought after should you decide to obtain a 2p one. I've been offered a lot of money just for the CP and turned it down in order to ensure this cabinet remained as is.

    6) At present I am exceptionally busy and really can't take time to get courier quotes. If you wish to proceed, then PM me and I can give you my address details and you are welcome to find a courier that suits you.

I can point you in the right direction regarding couriers, but it is always easier / cheaper to find your own shipping.

    Thanks,

    Parris

Ironically two of the cabinets you sold me are now in Greece (and no they are not for sale before any one PMs me), they will be visiting America next year too.

Parris I will let you know and tell you tomorrow as soon as I find some courier shipping quotes. Thanks for holding this up

No problem - so long as transaction is complete before 8th December I am happy with it. Off to France at that point, but can arrange for someone to be around on a specific day for courier collection if unit is not picked up by that point ;)

I am afraid I have to let this go ... I couldnt find a courier service that would guarantee the safety arrival of this thing within a reasonable amount of money ( was willing to pay 200-250 euro for shipping for this but insured was way more)

Give it to the other persons interested and thanks for holding it up.

I dream of the day i will have one of those Egrets ... :(
