FS: V64jr 256M

Selling my V64jr 256M, unit is tested and fully working. Requires 6 AA batteries or power supply for use (a Genesis power supply works). Keep in mind that these use parallel port connections.

I'd hate to be a cunt as you obviously have the item and went to the trouble to put your name with it, but if you could add the board name so it is visible too as per the rules sooner rather than later I'd be a happier bunny. So far you have met 2/3 of the listing criteria atm. I know it sucks if you are posting the sale across multiple forums but them are the rules here, sorry. Don't worry I'm not a complete douche but if you could remember to include it in future...

One question , this items working dump carts protos'?

 

If you are asking if you can dump cartridges to pc with it, I'm not actually sure. I believe at one point a tool was released to allow the v64jr to read carts out of it's cartridge slot, but I can't say that with 100% certainty as I've never used it to dump. Someone else might know a more solid answer

 

You can dump carts plugged into the back port on these. Tools will probably be a pain to use with out Win98 or XP.

 

Don't forget the proper parallel port. Those usb-parallel adapters are hit&miss.

 

I know parallel ports are disappearing from modern computers but you still have the option of buying a PCI parallel port card and putting one in yourself. I couldn't comment how well these older tools would work on Windows 7 in compat mode or XP mode.

To be honest I have never gotten it to work under XP, even with giveio etc to provide a compatibility layer. I just keep an old pc with win98 installed for when I need to flash

 

How about ucon64? ucon64 worked with xp and my super wild card.

 

UCon64 works fine on my XP:FLP PC.

 

I use WinRom64 when I want to load roms onto my V64jr. About dumping prototypes with a V64jr, that won't work with most protos. I've managed to dump a few with the V64jr, but the majority had to be dumped using an Action Replay Pro (GameShark Pro).
