Conversely, it's frustrating for buyers who don't hear from the seller... especially when the seller posts / updates their thread without replying to you or marking their item as sold.

I appreciate you're busy, and take on board that you know you have PMs to deal with. We're all busy, and I'm sure we are all understanding of that. However, I paid you 2 days ago, immediately PMed you my address and I didn't even get back a one sentence reply (e.g. "Received, thanks! Bit busy, will be doing a Post Office run in a few days.").

I would recommend that you only post an amount of items for sale that you can manage - and by manage, I mean updating the listing and replying to buyers in a timely manner. If you can only get online once a day, that's fine - but try to set aside an hour or so to go through messages.

To help you, perhaps it's best to deal with "how much is shipping to x?" questions in the thread, and request that only serious offers are PMed. That might keep it a bit more manageable.

Anyway, I see my item has literally been marked as sold about 10 minutes ago (well, it was still for sale when I checked last night), so all is good. Just a heads up that you're not the only one who gets frustrated - lack of communication from the seller will piss off your buyers and potential buyers (I notice some posts above where someone's asked for something that's already sold).

Where time is limited, I'd recommend updating the listings to mark sold (or under offer) items as your priority - that way, at least your buyers know you got their message! ;-)

It is weird as some of the items I bought are marked SOLD while others are still for sale without mention to multiples as I would have bought any more DC extensions not just the one. In fact I bought everything in the DC category except the new official jump pack and the red case, I even got the third party DC pad that turned out to be a 3D pad for my Saturn.

    +1 to what retro said.

And, I would suggest directly removing the sold items from the list, insted of marking them as SOLD, because it is a big list, and it's a bit confusing, it would be better if you just took out from the list the stuff you already sold.

That said, I don't know if a PM asking for shipping quotes does not sound as being interested... I sent you a PM twice but never got a response, I already checked that some of the items I asked have been sold, so just in case these are the ones I am interested in and that seem to be available:

    Donkey Kong Land 2 - $5

Pokemon Trading Card Game GBC - $4
    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...3/24cf6dcd.jpg

    Extension Cable (new) $2
    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...3/d692c49e.jpg

    Gamecube Battery - $2.50

(I will anyway get to you via PM, but just in case your inbox gets flooded I posted here as well)

Hey all. I can promise all of you that despite my brief communication (which I should work on), I am taking every one of your PM's into consideration.

I have been busy weighing everything and quoting people shipping prices which takes a bit of time as I have to box things up, measure, weigh, enter it online, then send the quote to the buyer.

I have gotten multiple requests for an item and have taken some time to respond until I knew the exact availability of it so that it would be easier to keep track of through my inbox, rather than responding with a "maybe". I have found it easier for myself to manage through this method for various reasons as it keeps less clutter and is much easier to reference a potential buyer when I see their PM isn't responded to.

Additionally, I usually don't check my threads often (obviously) as I often assume they're posts confirming me they send me a PM. Obviously not the case, and I am sorry for not checking up on this more often.

I am not giving excuses for my brief communication, but I do want everybody to know that I am working behind the scenes and doing my best to provide quotes and answer questions in a timely manner. From now on I will change things up and do a better job at answering your questions. Not providing confirmation of PM's has left a lot of you hanging. I hope there are no hard feelings, I am legitimately taking everybody into consideration even if it understandably seems the opposite.

Retro, that is a great idea and likely a better system. I will update the thread.

Raziel, I sent you this via PM, but ill post it for anyone else whos curious: Most of my items that are marked as new I have multiples of. If I sell something to you and don't mark it as sold, it most likely means I have multiples of it.

Tchoin- Got it, and will shoot you a quote. Also deleting items from the list now on.

Everybody else- I sent you all PM's, and hopefully up to date on everything

No worries I just would have liked to have gotten more than one DC extension as I need four total but I only saw the one and there was no indication of any other cables so I only inquired about the one. I don't think you are out to scam anyone was simply curious, your prices are great and I am happy as you have PM'd me and replied within sufficient time.

I didn't get a response either, even though I asked within 20 minutes of the thread being opened, and was the first to respond.
It's disappeared from the list anyway.

No worries - you'll fund us to be a patient bunch for the most part! We all have other things to do and understand that fitting everything in is hard. If we can suggest a way to lighten your load, I'm sure we will!

As for weighing items, again it could be that you just need to better manage the process from the start.

You're going to list an item. You've got it in front of you. You're (probably) going to take a pic. Have a tape measure and scales handy, and a piece of paper. Make a note of the item, its weight and dimensions.

Yes, the weight is going to go up with packaging, but you can estimate that.

Next, print off (or write) the postage rates. Do so for your country and a few international ones (you'll probably find they're in zones e.g. Europe is one zone, so pretty easy). When you've got a load of items to sell, this is a real time saver.

Do be wary of one thing - does your shipper use volumetric weight? By that, I mean does a 1kg parcel that's 2cm x 2cm x 2cm cost the same as a 1kg parcel that's 50cm x 50cm x 50cm. In the UK, the Post Office don't seem too bothered about that, but companies such as UPS, DHL etc. will be.

If you have heavy items, it'd be worth using a company such as www.ipsparcel.com - such companies resell carrier services and can be cheaper than the Post Office.

To make life easy for yourself, you could concentrate your lists down - e.g. you could round up to the nearest 500g for quotation purposes (perhaps to the nearest pound in Imperial).

That way, you can have 50 people ask how much for a particular item, and all you have to do is check your list for the actual weight, round up, check your postage price list and give them an idea of price - no need to touch the items again.

    Here's the USPS list:

    http://pe.usps.com/cpim/ftp/manuals/dmm300/Notice123.pdf

The quick references from pages 50-52 may well be enough for you.

I've created a feedback thread for anyone who buys off muffinman in the feedback forum.

Included in the thread is feedback - disc arrived this week, many thanks! If you'd like to leave feedback in my feedback thread, it'd be greatly appreciated! Just reply in the same format everyone else has ;-)
