FS: Vista Ultimate, Server/SQL Server 2008 & a Dead Laptop

    The software below is from one of Microsoft's various events, so they are "not for ebay" (NFR) versions. They are all unused/unregistered and only opened for verification and photos. For those of your familiar with this particular event, the Visual Studio software is not for sale and not shown.

    Windows Vista Ultimate w/SP1 - Includes the 32 bit disk, but not the 64 bit. According to various sources, the key is also good for the 64 bit version, though you'll have to use an integrated SP1 disk or update a clean install to SP1 before the key will work. Note that you will need to use the pin included to get the actual key from the Microsoft promotional website. $130 shipped.

    Windows Server 2008 Enterprise Edition - Includes both 32 and 64 bit disks. The license term is for one year, but the software is not time restricted (you just are supposed to stop using it).

    SQL Server 2008 - Includes both 32 and 64 bit disks for the November Community Technology Preview version. More importantly, it also includes a voucher for the full version of SQL Server 2008 Standard Edition when it is released (must register using the included pin before June though). I'll also through in the Forefront trial software shown.

    I have no idea how to price these two, so I will just use the cost that Microsoft is using for tax purposes: $300 shipped.

    I just checked ebay about the laptop, man almost every single one , same problem. I would say it's class action lawsuit time lol.

    Yeah, I have noticed a "few" show up there. Maybe they will replace it if I threaten them with a class action. :lol:

    Sad thing is, this was my favorite laptop.

    Seeing as I work for dell I can tell you how to get a replacement for free (PM for details).

    Basically though its a bad motherboard. Only way to fix it is to replace it and a mobo from dell is going to cost the same as buying a new machine (Its done that way as most people pick the new machine).
