Having already offered this particular Sony Playstation2 Development Tool (Model #: DTL-T10000) without a working laser, you'll be pleased to know it has now been repaired with a genuine Sony KHS400 laser. Having carried out extensive tests (viewable throughout the PS2 Dev threads) I can find no faults.

I am an honest chap and feel it necessary to point out a number of aspects of the Tool. It is an early build and as such may have issue reading NTSC U/C & PAL PS2 discs. What I hear you cry?

    Read this: http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showpost.php?p=215245&postcount=115

This is correct of all PS2 Development Tool units. You can get around it by either using Japanese PS2 discs or using copied material as the Tool is unhappy with final discs. They were designed to look for debug and master discs, not retail titles. I also found that it was quite happy to run Blue PS2 CD discs, which was tested across 4 titles without error.

It must be noted this IS NOT a fault with the DVD drive, which I tested as fully working on another PS2 Tool and it is not an issue with the software / hardware of this particular unit. It is a fully functional PS2 Tool!

Also, the network information on the Tool comes up blank, although the page is displayed. This is not an issue and there are a plethora of PS2 Tool units that do exactly the same thing, including one owned by Old Engineer. The original developers would have set the units to appear this way.

The condition of the unit is superb! It has been completely cleaned inside and out, is in perfect working order and the unit is well looked after. There are a few surface scratches, but nothing to worry about.

So, if you are looking for a Playstation2 Tool that's in excellent working order, here it is!

I am looking for either a trade or £200 plus P&P (within the UK approx. £50 via Royal Mail).

However, didn't notice a Test on offer - that would be cool ;-) Also just noticed you are in the UK too ;-)

    * Deleted original text as it makes no sense now as the unit has had a working laser fitted! *

Bump! If you are interested in obtaining a PS2 Tool, then I have changed the details below...

(Working laser added, happy with a trade OR £200 plus P&P)

Let me know what you consider a good trade via PM and I shall reply.

Because of the weight & fragile nature of this particular unit, I would be happier keeping it in UK / Europe, but if you are prepared to pay the P&P and take the risk to where ever, then let me know. I also don't accept PayPal (rip off merchants).

PM noted, thanks! Hope to hear back.

I have pointed this particular interested party towards a unit that is closer to hand (within the same town). Too honest for my own good. Item still currently available!

    Hi,

I'm probably interested. How much is shipping to Germany?

Shipping to Germany via ParcelForce (probably easiest for me):

    £90.65 International Dataport - 1 day
    £63.05 Global Priority - 3 days
    or
£45.60 International Standard - 3 days (not tracked)

I've been really lucky, both are in excellent condition. This was a trade rather than a sale actually, so when the "other" item arrives I shall post information.

    Bit of advice Dad,
If its going via parcel force get a tracking number. Stuff has a habit of going walkies in my experance. Parcel Force in general are a proper bunch of "C U Next TuesdayS" Even if it does they are so inept they return goods for no reason.

To be honest, it would have just been another expensive paper-weight ;-)
