HOW THE FUCK CAN YOU MAKE SUCH A HORRIBLE PROGRAM?!!!! HOW THE FUCK DO STUDIOS SUCH AS BUNGIE PUT UP WITH IT?!!!!! Here's the deal: -I spent 3 hours of fucking work in 3ds max. I get a fucking BSOD. I get my first file-open failed. I'm like "OK, cool. Serves me right for not making backups." - Another 5 or so hours go by. Every 30 minutes I made a fucking point of doing a Save-As then clicking the + button to make an increment (Saves the file as _01, 02, so on). -Another fucking BSOD. Again, I'm cool(ish) about it. Then I open 3ds Max. I go through ALL my fucking backups with "File Open-Failed." FUCK YOU TOO. - I also tried 'importing' my scene by dragging the file into the viewport and clicking open. No fucking dice. I'm switching to Maya. I've never gotten this problem with Maya, only with Max. I love Max though, wish they would FUCKING FIX THE PROBLEMS. :flamethrower::cur_sonic: p.s. I'm running 2012 if anyone cares. On Windows 7 64-bit SP1. I think this is how people get depressed And no, I'm not switching to Mac for Maya. I'm a Windows fanboy and a lot of my work I do in CryEngine.
Max sucks balls but something sounds wrong with your PC more then max. But on the flip side, writing an exporter or tool for Max is a freaking torture.
Agreed. Thank god I somehow managed to export the scene as a FBX file so I managed to import it into Maya. Again, I love Max but wish they would fix the problems The BSOD's are on my end, but I'm just a lazy bitch and put up with it instead of taking the time to do a reformat. I think the BSOD's are problem with Visual Studio, but then again, I really don't care atm. edit: If I post error logs would you mind looking at them? I've spent a few hours searching online but haven't found anything. even more edit: i'll just install 2011 and post back later.
We're still on 3ds mac 2011 at school. We never get any problems, but the instructor always tells us to save often, and to also save to a flash drive every once in a while.
