He must have gotten it on sale in the past, or possibly bought it for the PC. Steam's been running a bunch of deals this past month and it's possible it was discounted there.

Braid is still $15 (1200 MS points) on Live.

Yeah, just checked Steam. If you're on the US site, Braid is part of the Indie games sale and marked down to $2.50.

That braid character looks like a chubby paedophile.. it creeps me out. I stayed clear of that game after trying the demo. Got to hand it the music though, good job.
