look at the pictures first, this is where every modders heart begins to cry:

i got this console in from a friend of mine for repair. he bought it off from ebay from a french modder named "ghoulisator" what is also his ebay name. its a PAL FRA N64 with led mod and rgb mod for a very high price, not to mention the high french shipping costs.
the led mod is totally fucked up and the rgb mod not soldered, its just sticked to the pins with super glue.
the console ran a time and then stable green picture after turning on the console, meaning dead RCP-NUS.
    INFO:
if RCP-NUS, its the graphic chip, is dead it means there is only a 10% chance of transplanting a good one from another board onto it, cause these chips cant stand too much heat and refuse to come off the board below 400 degrees celsius hot air flow.

the french guy not only refuses to take it back and give him a good one instead, he wont even pay half the shipping costs for it and he will only repair it. he said its a common problem and the rgb lines have to be resoldered.
yeah, a guy glueing the rgb mod instead of soldering will repair it and this is a common problem...WHAT A JERK !
he makes it for the buyer nearly impossible to get back money or a working console till the point the buyer has no interest in getting back anything, becuase he nearly has to invest the same amount of money again for a console that "might work" a time.

as a modder myself i cant stand such people ripping off other people with good faith in modders, making us all look like a bunch of assholes that just want their money and give a fuck about what poor quality mods we might give them.

the friend of mine also wanted to post a review of this console and wanted me to wait with any comments on this, but as a modder myself i cant just look at this and let the french guy sell any more of this fuck ups and rip off people, because he is selling this again atm.

just wanted to let you all know. and yes he might be on this forums here too.

Wow... that's pretty terrible. Why would you do a mod like that? Why would you even attempt to do an RGB mod if you're not able to use a soldering iron?

This reminds me of a video I saw on Youtube of a guy who had gotten an NES from another guy who had sent it to someone to do an RGB and S-video mod. He took a video of him opening the console, and when he opens it it's pretty baffling. It made the mod in those pictures look really professional by comparison. He basically covered the entire board with hot glue, and there was a huge mess of wires covered in hot glue. It was disgusting. I don't know why he thought he needed to use that much hot glue. There was almost more hot glue than there was console.

you mean why would he, not me :p

yeah i know what video you're talking about, seen it too.

the thing is, when someone fucks up and cant solder and uses hot glue or super glue, he should really say ok i fucked up here is your money back.
but this guy really refuses to and how the hell should we trust someone doing such crap, when he says he repairs it ?

I meant "you" as in anyone who would do something like that. But yeah, it's pretty stupid. It's not even really something you can "fuck up". Pretty much any guide you read on the internet on how to do an RGB mod will tell you to use a soldering iron, not fucking super glue. So he couldn't have been ignorant of that fact. I guess he was hoping that it would just work and that nobody would notice.

    Damn...
This hurts, it actually physically hurts.
Is there any reason, why you didn't buy the different parts and modded one yourself? :)

like i said, a friend of mine bought this from the french guy from ebay. we only have PAL EU N64s that dont have RGB unless you equip those with a rgb pcb where you have to solder like 20 cables to the DENC-NUS or MAV-NUS chip. in PAL FRA N64s you only have to connect 3 wires from the VDC-NUS to the AV port

i myself only got ntsc consoles, cause they're the best ;)

Did he try to file a claim with ebay to get his money back?

And that is some terrible work that guy did and he sounds like a complete dick.

Wow, that looks bad. I cannot believe that person would sell something that looked like that.

Wow, that's just laughably bad. The seller should be reported for selling modified consoles.

That was a console modded by Drakon, someone who I called out on this forum many times and people actually defended him.

Wow... just... wow. I'm new to modding and even I use the proper equipment. I don't use glue. This is just terrible and breaks my modding heart and makes me mad at the same time. The Jp/En language switch and the 50/60Hz switch I installed on my Sega Genesis Model 1 looks more professional than this.

That "modder" needs his screwdrivers taken away from him. How hard is it to follow directions and use a soldering iron? Even a noob like me follows directions and won't do the mod if I'm unsure of it.

If you can't return it, then you should undo everything that idiot did, repair it, and do the mod properly.

Wow that modder spent more money on glue and solder than on the actual console, get a refund!

I'm not a pro with a soldering iron but this is a piss poor job!!!

File a dispute on Paypal and they will withhold the money from his account, Paypal should favour the buyer with the pictures you've got.

Expensive mess. Wonder if he tried to sell it because it didn't work and he's hoping to pass the blame? Considering he spent a lot on glue, and he'd need to spend more money on solvents to remove the glue to re-do wiring and hope the parts doesn't get damaged in the process. On top of that he may lose shipping cost if Paypal sides with the buyer. Oh yeah and eBay FVF too.

Where did he learn to glue like that, elementary schools? Is he old enough to use eBay at all?
