Ebay just announced it is doubling it's fees on most charges. Gallery Gallery fees will be raised from $0.25 to $0.35 per listing. eBay was expensive as it is .... it's coming to the Amazon level of rapgeage now .... it's beyond a joke :smt022 EDIT: It seems us chaps in the UK arn't being hit as hard by eBay.com's new pricing policy. On the other hand they were raping us harder than you guys anyway, so maybe that's why ...
It's good to be a monopoly huh? I mean, I suppose there are Yahoo auctions, and a couple of other places, but no one looks at them, so they're not viable alternatives.
At one time there used to be yahoo auctions over here but they stopped and they only operate in japan now. So out only alternative is ebay and they damn well know it.
Not excatly - Amazon.co.uk also have auctions, however their fees may very well be worse than eBay :smt014
Yes, MercadoLibre down here has also increased their publication fees - and are even charging for unsold products. The bastards...
Ebay just bought the Dutch compentition marktplaats.nl which had no fees at all except when you placed an item of 250 euro's or more. I'm betting they either shut it down within a year and re-direct everybody to ebay.nl or they start charging for everything. :smt009
I got this email today too. Sucks dick, everyone loses quite honestly. Why? Because sellers will raise prices and shipping costs to "compensate" (sorry excuse) for this raise. It shouldn't affect me too badly, but it sucks. They have their eBay fees and then they make another 3% everytime sends me paypal money. That's around 10% now, and will be around 13% afterwards. Amazon charges 15% for no pic, no nothing, plus .99 cents. Erff. Maybe if eBay actually implement more features that people want, and made it more user friendly to sell shit instead of going through 6 pages of crap, I'd be better with it. :smt009
tell ya something, before ebay.nl there was Ibazar which used to be free. And heck, marktplaats.nl is a disorganized rabble full of dumb people anyway...
Maybe but marktplaats.nl has 500x more activity going on it ebay.nl is the worst ebay site arround with very little stuff on it.
