    Just read about this

    http://www.expressandstar.com/2008/03/05/raid-on-dvds-nets-goods-of-500000/

Thats my local carboot, shame i wasnt there on sunday, would have been great fun to watch the raid!

Ironically, the amount they confiscated is nothing, and the same people selling will be back on this sunday, im not exagerrating when i say there must be about 50-100 stalls selling bootleg games, music etc on a weekly basis, and its easy to see why people buy them when they are selling them for 15 dvds/games for £10

A local carboot near Leeds (Cross Green) always gets raided for knock off stuff. Once there when it got raided and the police made a B-line for a guy selling cd's/dvd's, I looked at the guy on the stall next door who had about 15 packs (200's) of knockoff cigs perched on the top of some old crap as he calmly and slowly started to stash them under his table so not to draw attention. Funny as hell.

Whats the Cross Green car boot like Kiff? I never been to that one. I usually go to the Airport one as its only a mile from where I live. I have seen a few raids at Dewsbury market carboot.

It differs hugely from week to week. If the top end is open it is generally ok as that is where your everyday car booters can set up. Alot of the bottom half is all traders selling toilet rolls and mobile phones. The best one around these parts is Bingley Cattle Market carboot. There is a guy called Mick that has a stall there every week and it is games and consoles only, decent prices too.

Whats the one at the airport like? I have been going to go since xmas but always end up at Bingley.

Well its closed from October - April so you would have no joy there lol. From mid may its great, had some great finds there over the years, although the last 2 years there have been a lot more ebayers/people on the hunt. It used to just be me & another guy who lives pretty close who were there every week. May have to try the Bingley on out sometime!

I love going to carboot sales, the nearest one to me is quite good (bathgate market) i can even get a free bus to take me there which is good since i don't drive yet.

The only really good stall to look at is one that has tons of ps2 games, some xbox and a few GC n64 along with fairly crap albums. prices are ok on some games but others are just too much. I mostly go once every few weeks just to see if i can spot any good gaming bargins or unusual stuff but no one ever has anything interesting
