I was wondering if anyone has tried installing a wrist-watch where the circular XBOX logo placeholder is located on the original XBOX 1 controller (S and Duke). If not, would something of this nature be easy to achieve? Keep in mind there are wrist-watches that are extremely thin.
Sure, it would be quite possible. I've taken apart wrist watches before and you could easily cram a large rolex into that space, even if that meant cutting into the plastic.
Why not a little miniture indoor fountain? Or better still one of those chocolate fountain thingys or a gas burner so it doubles up as a camping stove? "Excuse me, can you tell me what time it is?" "Yeah sure!" <schwing!> "HOLY SH*T!" ;-) For some funky 360 case mods (my favourite being HL2) : http://www.techeblog.com/index.php/tech-gadget/top-5-most-creative-xbox-360-case-mods But this still remains the classic & best mod ever produced for the original Xbox: http://images.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://pictures2.xbox-scene.com/4/portable/IMG_0471.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.xbox-scene.com/xbox1data/sep/EEuAypAuFksGuwuJHs.php&h=480&w=640&sz=39&hl=en&start=126&tbnid=AfOVV2HTN6DB1M:&tbnh=103&tbnw=137&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dxbox%2Bmod%26start%3D120%26ndsp%3D20%26svnum%3D10%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN
an analogue, circular watch matching the radius of the circle on the unused space offered by the original xbox controllers is ideal in my opinion for a filler, instead of the paper-sign
I like that idea. Maybe one with an EL background (with a switch if it gets too annoying). The only thing would be in order to make it look nice and professional, you would probably need to do some cosmetic work to shave the watch face into the casing (read: bondo, sandpaper, elbow grease).
yeap, and to be honest i m not very skilled in doing fine-tunes. I m rather sloppy and all-over the place I m hoping someone with the patience and experience could try it out, if interested ^_^
it's good enough. It doesn't have to be a rolex exactly - just something to actually match the colours and art direction of the XBOX 1 console as a whole imo. If the radius of the glass on the watch is smaller than the circle, some stuffing should keep it centered. I m aware that you have made some nice vaccuum mods retro? I think you can pull it off easily
Hell, I'll do it. Someone send me a watch and a controller Come to think of it, the window on my duke seems to be awfully big. It would have been nice to have an LCD there ala dreamcast.
