Seriously? That's fucking shocking. I thought it was PS2 sized by the pictures. What a crock, why has nobody been complaining about it? Is that size suddenly acceptable to the Japanese now or something? After all that crap about being the Yank Tank etc etc this seems a real step backwards. Drop the Foreman grill and make some room guys
Yeah, but they wouldn't have complained about the "Yank Tank" if they could've played, like, Growlanser on it or whatever, but they could care less about Halo, so the size is just one more reason to dislike the thing.
I find it hilariously ironic. Not only is it big, but you can also rule out stacking other consoles on top of it as well (which for the life of me I don't see why anyone would do it).
Both images are from the press releases, If you look at the standard size 3 prong power input that both have you'll see they are to comparitive scale.
These are the numbers that IGN is giving out: Dimensions PS3 About 13.5" x 3.25" 360 About 10.25" x 2.5" but if you base it on the prongs it is quite convincing that the 360 should be bigger.
That's a pretty good point... EDIT: But what about the Ethernet ports? They don't appear to be quite to scale. Furthermore, everyone seen the picture of the PS3 being held up by someone at the unveiling (in front of his face, might be Kutaragi)? Doesn't look terribly larger than a PS2 to me. A bit taller, and maybe a bit thicker, but not a huge difference.
Its aparently sudenly acceptable for things to be big now (even though im sure a few people mentioned the 360 was bulky) but now the ps3 has been shown to be oversided its ok...
Nobody said that people aren't hypocrites. EDIT: if you look closer at the prong spacing, they seem to be different, so I think they're just different assemblies to begin with.
